March 2012 SFYTT, Post #3
Today is the last day of March and that means it's the final day to get those Sketch For You to Try creations submitted!! The SFYTT Sisters have all been playing with the sketch for a final time in these last days of the month, be sure you play along with us! And don't forget about our fabulous sponsor this month, The Craft's Meow! They have some pretty awesome stuff in their store and I have a few more ideas using my new Baggin' Some Rays stamp set, so stay tuned next week for that! Here's my 3rd card using this month's fabulous sketch:
Once again, I pulled out some of my favorite Verve stamps and some out-of-my-norm colors for this one. I'm pretty happy with how it came together. First of all, all of those papers are printed digi papers from the new Tomboy collab by Melissa Bennett and Libby Pritchett (Sweet Shoppe). The flower and sentiment are from Verve's Amazing Wishes stamp set and that fun tag is from my much-used Tag Time set.
Here's one last look at this months' sketch:
So come on and join us! Remember, there's a HUMONGOUS prize package available for participants at the end of the year, but you're only eligible to win if you play along each month! All of the details can be found on THIS POST on Jen's Blog.
Have a great weekend!!

March 2012 SFYTT, Post #2
It's the 3rd Saturday of March and that means it's time for some more Sketch For You To Try Inspiration from a few of the SFYTT Sisters! Have you had a chance to play along with this month's sketch yet? You've got until March 31st at midnight, so there's still plenty of time to create something and it's a SUPER fun sketch this month! And don't forget we have another amazing sponsor this month - The Craft's Meow!
Today, half of the SFYTT Sisters are posting another sample on their blogs using this month's sketch. I decided to play with some new paper pads and some of my neglected Verve Stamps to create a more-than-is-typical-for-me layered card that I absolutely LOVE!
That fabulous Mark Twain quote stamp is from the Words of Wisdom stamp set. I also used my Loopy Blooms die set with the matching loopy blooms stamps from the fun Making a Statement stamp set. Those flowers just seemed like the perfect embellishment!
Be sure to stop by these other SFYTT Sisters' blogs to see what they're sharing today with this month's sketch!

Sweet Sunday Sketch #154
*ETA: I just realized that when I typed up this post I forgot to schedule it to publish and also that almost everyone else had a time change last night! I'm all sorts of messed up! Sorry this is late! Hopefully all of you are sleeping and nobody noticed! ;-)
Whew! I have to say I'm kinda glad that week is over!! Between everyone in my house being sick almost at once, some absolutely CRAZY weather for us here in Hawaii all week, lots of extra school activities, a stressful busy week at work, and my Mother-in-Law arriving for a nice long 3-week visit a few days ago - well, things have been a little hectic around here! I finally had a chance to sit down and get some stamping done yesterday afternoon and it was pretty nice! It's time for another fun Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge so I pulled out some new Verve and got to work on my sample card using the new sketch:
I figured it was past time to get a St. Patrick's Day card made, so that's what I did.
First of all, LOVE this week's sketch! I dug deep into my paper stash and used some super old Scenic Route and Stampin' Up papers for this one. I was really excited to finally get my new Lucky You stamp set inky! I just love all those different sized shamrocks and all those sentiments that I plan to use for so many things (not just St. Patrick's Day cards!). Of course, I couldn't resist adding that fun go-to label from Love Notes. That thing is the perfect finishing touch for just about any card!
Be sure to stop by the other Sweet Sunday Stampers' blogs to see what they've done with the sketch:
AND...we have another fabulous Guest Sweet Sunday Stamper, Shannon White! Be sure to stop by and see what she's created with this week's sketch too!
Then play along with us and post your own creation using InLinkz over on today's post on Karen's Blog!

HI everyone! Just a quick note to let you know that I don't have a card to share just yet for the fabulous Verve Divas Inspirations Blog Hop that is happening right now. Anyway, I will try to get something done and posted ASAP! In the meantime, please head on over to the Verve Blog to start the hop off right! Lots of amazing inspiration today! Here's a list of the girls who didn't bail on ya:

March 2012 SFYTT
Well, it's that time again already - first Saturday of the month and time for another fabulous Sketch For You to Try!! I hope you all had a chance to play along with us last month - Lots of exciting things in store for participants of the monthly SFYTT this year, including a chance to win another fabulous huge prize package at the end of the year!! All of the details can be found on today's post over on Jen's blog, with some of the details outlined in the "In a Nutshell" graphic at the end of this post. We have another amazing sponsor this month - The Craft's Meow!
First, how about a look at this month's sketch:
For my sample card, I decided to work with the Baggin' Some Rays set from The Craft's Meow and once again pulled out my Sidewalks October Afternoon pad for the papers. Love those fun cheerful colors!
Now, I have to tell you all the (now) funny story about the process of making this card. As usual, I waited until the almost-last-minute to get my card done. This week, that meant Thursday evening because I knew I wouldn't have any time at all to stamp on Friday between volunteering at Dean's school and helping my Mom with some things after school and then babysitting for a friend in the evening. Well, it was just my luck that we had island-wide power outages most of the day and evening Thursday! So this card was created practically in the dark!! For reals. I made this card by the light of a dim Coleman camping lantern, which was SUPER annoying and not at all ideal stamping conditions!! My giant head kept getting in the way and blocking the light and I could barely see anything. It was terrible. But if I didn't get it done, it wasn't getting done in time for my deadline (yep, I am DEDICATED folks. It's the new me, what can I say?). Anyway, I have to say that despite some problems with proportion and placement, overall I'm happy with the results considering my working conditions!! One of these days I'll learn my lesson and start working ahead.
OK, so be sure to stop by the rest of the SFYTT Sisters' blogs to see what they've done with this month's sketch!
