The first one was for a sketch challenge and I made a 4x4 card out of textured Soft Sky CS. I used my circle cutter to cut a Night of Navy circle, then scalloped the edges with my corner rounder. The striped paper is from Scenic Route (I'm continuously amazed at how well Stampin' Up's colors go with other companies patterned paper). I used Old Olive wide grosgrain ribbon for the vertical element and So Many Scallops stamp set for the sentiment. Simple but cute.
The next card was for a challenge to come up with a masculine card. I used nearly the exact same concept as my Flowers card (previous post) and cut out elements from a piece of EK Success printed paper. You can't tell in the pic, but some of the circles are elevated with dimensionals to give the card some depth. The sentiment is a rub-on that looks terrible in the picture (it looks great in real life) - I'm not sure what's up with that - maybe the flash?
Anyway, hope you liked them. This was my first time to participate in an SCS event and I had lots of fun. You can check out my gallery over at SCS - I'm JTapler.
