Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be playing along again this month with the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop!! Last month was the only month I've missed since Taylor started this fun monthly customer hop and I felt so left out! LOL. But, somebody had to go on vacation (me!). So anyway, the theme this month is Autumn / Thankful and we were required to use Taylored Expressions stamps released prior to September 2010 - hence the "Past" part of the hop.

Funny thing, that little "past" part of the hop - see, I sat down yesterday afternoon and created this SUPER cute Thanksgiving card that I was SO proud of and couldn't wait to share with you guys today. Then last night Sankari and I were having one of our crazy phone conversations and I happened to mention my totally rad card and that I had used those adorable pumpkins again from the Gobble, Gobble set. And she's all like "uh, Jen, you can't use Gobble, Gobble for this hop ya know". And then I said a bunch of stuff that I can't repeat here. Because man, that card is awesome!! And how the hell did I forget that one important little detail about the hop? duh. Anyway, you guys will just have to take my word for it (but if you twist my arm, I could probably be convinced to share it in a few days. LOL).

Fortunately for you guys (ok, let's be honest - fortunately for ME), I had made this card last weekend and it fit the requirements of the hop. But I wasn't really loving it, so set it aside to share later when I was desperate (yes, this qualifies).

I used that fun tree image from In the Park, paper piecing the trunk and leaves. The Happy Thanksgiving sentiment is from A Year of Sweet Sentiments. Mostly I'm just not loving how the paper pieced tree turned out - I definitely don't hate it, but when I was done I was wishing I had just colored it instead. Oh well!

So that's it from me today. be sure to stop by all the other Hoppers' blogs to see what they've created this month. I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

Consider this as me twisting your arm, because I really want to see the other card. Not that I don't like this one, because I do - and I have no idea why you weren't loving it to begin with. Maybe it was just telling you that it was time for it to be shown yet, because it think it's perfectly darling. I love the little tree and the great paper pieced leaves. Perfect autumn colours!

BTW, it's really kinda nice to know that even mega-talented people aren't perfect, and mess up things like which stamp set they can use for a blog post. Makes me feel better about getting the date wrong last month.

So, um...how hard do we have to twist??
