After living on Maui for 7+ years, I have to say that Fall is truly the only time of year that I ever feel homesick for Oklahoma. And I really think that's only because of college football - nobody on Maui really cares much about college football, certainly not like they do in Oklahoma!! Here people usually only watch a game if it's televised after dark, or if the waves are too crappy to go surf, or if it's raining. Otherwise, too much to do outside to waste an entire Saturday watching TV! But that usually means nobody really pays much attention to what's going on so there's nobody to talk to about it either. I have to say that the Taplers have learned that there really IS more to life than college football in the fall! It has been a hard lesson and we're slow learners, but we're starting to figure things out. And once last year we even TiVo'd a game to attend a wedding and waited until we got home to watch the game delayed a few hours (gasp! - I mean, first of all, who in the world gets married on a Saturday during football season!? That definitely does NOT happen in Okahoma!!). Anyway, I'm rambling. And none of this has anything to do with my card other than I had fall on the brain this week. So I created a fall-themed card.

I used the September Stamp of the Month set, Autumn Splendor, (currently 30% off through the end of September!!) to stamp that fun trio of leaves. The sentiment is from Happy Fall. All of the patterned papers are from the new Off We Go digi kit by Susan Bartolini (Sweet Shoppe). I also added some fun velvety trim I picked up last year at a scrapbook store in Wichita, KS (sorry I don't know the brand or the name of the store).
One final note, during September all Autumn Themed Stamp Sets are 25% off!!

Jen, this is fabulous! Love the fall leaves! Need to order that stamp set!! You know I think if I lived somewhere beautiful and warm like you, I probably wouldn't sit indoors watching sports all the time either. So I think I understand where you're coming from. Especially here, what else is there to do when it's -30 or -40 outside ;) Okay....maybe stamp! hehe

Jen, this is adorable! Love the design and colors! Love how you pleated the velvet....so rich!

I totally understand about the weather/season homesickness. I really miss the cold weather of Indiana. Turtlenecks and fuzzy sweaters are not practical here in NC. Just not that cold enough for long periods of time. I really miss it!

I love the bright and cheery colours on this fall card...makes me hope we will have a warmer fall than summer (unusually colder and wetter than a typical BC summer).

I thought the big thing in Hawaii was high school football. I mean REALLY big! Of course, Maui is so small it must be different there. How many teams could you have on one small island? Thank goodness for the electronic age! Besides, it brings all this crafting beauty with it... I love your take on a fall card!
